Will SoildWorks work on the new M3 Pro or M4 Pro MacBook Pro?

Will Soildworks work on the new MacBook Pros with either the M3 Pro (32GB) or M4 Pro (24GB)?

I am under the assumption that I will still need to run Parallels on the Mac but how much will that compromise the performance of Soildworks 2025?

I personally don’t recommend this. Have attempted to do this with VMWare Fusion on a M4 Mac, able to work on simple parts but once you have slightly bigger assembly or parts with moderate number of patterns and/or surfaces, it became almost unworkable, kind of like remote desktop to a low cost PC that runs Solidworks over the internet.

Suggest to buy a cheap PC (desktop or laptop) with Intel 12th gen and above (or equivalent) + 16Gb RAM. It would most likely perform much better than your Mac option, even with intergraded GPU. Solidworks running on a workstation PC like Dell Precision in the same price bracket as a M3/M4 Pro Mac can just accept almost anything you can throw at it. I’m simply sharing from my own experience.
