macOS Software Update "Upgrade Now" UI design failure...
I administer Macs for some clients where the users are not set up or allowed to be administrators. When checking to see if any updates are required, pressing "Update Now" causes an authentication window to open with the following message:
"Software Update Enter your password to install software update."
Apart from being poor English, this should be a simple user escalation prompt and not a prompt for the current user's credentials. I need to be able to enter an admin's credentials but can't because they've got the wrong dialogue box. So, I have to log the current user out, log back in as an admin because Apple seems to have forgotten about user rights escalation. I'm sure this didn't used to behave like this in previous versions of macOS. Am I wrong?
