It probably won't be as easy as you imagine.
You would need an adapter and a power source.
Something like this for instance:
click here ➜ SATA to USB C Adapter with Power - Amazon.com

That means the drive is being detected. It won't appear in Finder until a readable disc is inserted.
Whatever format the photo disc is in, is not readable or understandable by the Mac. Where did the disc come from? How was it made?
Try a different CD or DVD to verify that the drive is being detected.
You can also confirm this by going to System Settings ➜ General ➜ About ➜ System Report ➜ Disc Burning, and you should see the drive listed there even if the disc cannot be read.
How do you propose this internal SATA CD/DVD drive will be connected to your MacBook Pro? Will you be using a SATA-to-USB adapter or cable for this? If so, that may take care of the physical connection, but does not guarantee that macOS will recognize that this drive is connected to it.
internal drives are unlikely to work with any device they were not made for
external drives should be one size fit all as the optical drivers are generic so they should no matter what brand should work with all windows/mac/linux machines
I utilize a SATA-to-USB adapter, when connected MAC doesn't show this external device, when insert e DVD, show message "The disck connected is not possible to read from this computer". The CD contain Fotos.
Tanks a lot. Really, in System Setting, in Disc Burning, doesn't show any device connected. It flashing a led, open and close de drawer to insert DWD, but only this
