Can I use DVDRAM GT80N with my MacBook Pro?

Hi, should be possible to use DVDRAM GT80N from HP note book like external DVD reader on MAC Book Pro?

It probably won't be as easy as you imagine.


You would need an adapter and a power source.


Something like this for instance:

That means the drive is being detected. It won't appear in Finder until a readable disc is inserted.


Whatever format the photo disc is in, is not readable or understandable by the Mac. Where did the disc come from? How was it made?


Try a different CD or DVD to verify that the drive is being detected.


You can also confirm this by going to System Settings ➜ General ➜ About ➜ System Report ➜ Disc Burning, and you should see the drive listed there even if the disc cannot be read.
