EaseUS recovered folder can't be deleted or trashed

I used EaseUS recovery software to recover some previously deleted files. The software deposited two folders on my desktop, but now I am trying to delete these folders. However, all attempts to move them anywhere else (i.e., Trash, out of iCloud Desktop, etc.) fail due to the following message: "The operation can’t be completed because “(file name)” needs to be downloaded." There are no files inside the folder that CAN be downloaded: there's nothing there! I have tried a hard restart, resetting the PRAM, repairing permissions . . . none of these actions have allowed me to trash these folders and get them off my desktop. Any ideas or solutions out there?
