18.3.1 update - no notification sounds on mail app

For now you may want to set-up and use the Outlook's Email app you will get all notifactions and sounds, The only thing wrong is flag colors you can use them but thers only get one color avaible. this may help to get you by using outlook. when you are using Outlook and Apples app if you move, delete and so on it wiil make changes to one it changes it the other. so i used Apples to read and make changes, and i only used Outlook for the sounds.

it's a shame we have to go though this it's taking Apple so long to fix. hope this helps...

I had this problem a bit ago, seemed to go away, but actually came BACK with 18.4 despite others saying it fixed it. So it seems it may be somehow related to the update process, rather than the version itself.

I lost my Mail app notification sounds when I downloaded the 18 update. The last time I got any notification sounds from the Mail app was when my phone was running 17.6.and they worked consistently. I contacted Apple support and they told me to completely erase my phone and set it back up from scratch (not from a backup) and it didn’t work and it was a mess to do. It’s a good day if I get a Lock Screen notification and banners but I never get sounds. I have submitted feedback a million times but I guess it’s just not a priority for Apple to fix or not enough people are having this problem for Apple to do something about.

I agree completely! I have had 3 calls with Apple and FINALLY got a Genius Bar appointment for the “genius” to be stumped. I said it’s all over the message boards that this could well be a bug and not individual phones. She said she’s not heard of this problem before. I very much doubt that as it’s everywhere. I relied heavily on my mail notifications (especially for my VIP mail) but I’ve tried EVERYTHING and 3 hours at the Apple Store and they couldn’t fix it either.

Has anyone actually had a successful fix with this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. SO frustrating Apple!

Solve your problem by choosing the 3dots upper right and eliminate categories for a LIST VIEW.

I’m having same issue tried all no help .Apple address the issue so we can have our email sound back.You created this now fix it please!I am tired of having to check to see if any new emails have been received.

I absolutely hate the new Mail app presentation. It looks incredibly chaotic and childish. Instead of changing things that probably nobody wanted, why don’t they spend time fixing the sound notifications, which thousands of people are experiencing?

Me too. I don’t like the new Mail presentation. Stop upgrading When/where There is no need to change the format. Do these people have nothing better to do????

It’s weird, I’ve not updated yet but have this issue, which occurred right around the last auto update date.

Don’t update if you can. You’ll lose your notifications for your email. Apple doesn’t care about fixing it either.
