My 200GB iCloud Storage is now full with 0 device backup but showing consume 110.5GB!!

Recently I moved from iPhone 12 pro max to 16 pro max and used the clone feature.

After moving to iPhone 16, my iCloud storage is now full with 0 device backups using 155GB of storage space.

Storage space breakdown showing:

  • backup 110.5 GB
  • iCloud Drive 83.6 GB
  • Photo 0 GB
  • Apple Books & etc 5.x GB

I went to backup; it showed 0 devices with nothing in there. Apple is always asking for an upgrade (just to solve the problem!?!?), can't synchronize, and even tried to erase 20 GB in iCloud Drive; nothing happened.

What can I do about this?

iCloud Backups Consumed:

Stop backing up your iPhone to iCloud Drive. Note that iCloud does not back up everything (What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support) So, stopping the back of your iPhone-to-iCloud seems best. Then, back up your iPhone to a computer to back it up in its entirely.

One thing to do...

Download All of iCloud:

You can download all of iCloud to an external hard drive. Then, you can trash what it in there, saving you what space remains. Note that downloading it is essentially a way of backing up your data. So, do so every so often, that way you'll have something to recover your data from, such as when you lose iCloud service.
