Need iPad Pro USB-C to optical (Toslink) output adapter to DAC

I'm looking to output my iPad Pro music and streaming audio to a Denon DA300 USB DAC. I had used the Denon previously with previous iPhones/iPads with a lightning to dual USB-B and lightning (charging) outputs. Would've liked to get something similar since the DAC output is connected with a good/audiophile USB cable.

The DAC also has optical input though. Anybody have good luck with a USB-C to Toslink audio adapter, possibly (not mandatory) coupled with Lightning or USB-C output to charge?

For your iPad Pro with USB-C, you have a few options to connect it to your Denon DA-300USB DAC via optical (Toslink):

Option 1: USB-C to Optical (Toslink) Adapter

Note that these are not as common as USB-C to USB audio interfaces, but one that may work to consider is the:

  • Douk Audio USB-C to Optical & Coaxial Digital Audio Converter

Option 2: USB-C Hub with Optical Out

A USB-C hub with an optical out could provide the most flexible solution. Some hubs have dedicated SPDIF optical output, and a USB-C pass-through for charging. Some examples are:

  • HYPER Drive 6-in-1 USB-C Hub (with 3.5mm/optical output)
  • Satechi USB-C Multiport Adapter with Audio and Optical Output

Option 3: USB-C to USB-B Cable (Retain Your USB DAC)

If you were previously using a Lightning to USB-B adapter, you might just need a USB-C to USB-B OTG adapter to continue using your current setup.

  • Lindy USB-C to USB-B OTG Cable

Thanks, I've tried option 3, with existing Apple Lightning to USB-B coupled with new Apple USB C to Lightning. This generates message "This accessory is not supported by this device." I will check other options. (The original adapter obviously did not generate error when used with Lightning-equipped Apple devivces.)

Anyone have opinions on the items in Options 1 & 2?
