EtreCheck flags Apple processes; what should I do?

I updated to Sequoia 15.3.1 afew days ago, so ran Etrecheck to see if anything was needed. This computer also interacts locally with an iPhone (18.3.1) both signed in to same iCloud+ account.

It reported High CPU use and Crashes, but every instance was for an OS process; nothing on installed apps. I've seen this in the past on other OS versions, too.

Are these results normal? Is there anything that can prevent these?

I think Etrecheck added some windage: "There have been numerous app crashes.", and "There have been numerous cases of apps with heavy CPU usage."
That's true. EtreCheck just reports what it finds. It if find something that can be related to a specific problem, then it says so. But it shouldn't hide things if they can't be tied to a specific problem.

But the exaggeration is unnecessary and unbecoming.

What exaggeration?

Diagnostics Information (past 60 days):
2025-02-14 05:38:46 spotlightknowledged High CPU Use (14 times)
2025-02-13 21:32:16 knowledgeconstructiond High CPU Use (8 times)
2025-02-13 13:48:39 sysmond High CPU Use
2025-02-12 12:14:24 FPCKService High CPU Use (6 times)
2025-02-12 09:39:01 CGPDFService Crash
2025-02-11 10:28:33 signpost_reporter High CPU Use (2 times)
2025-02-11 09:40:52 ANECompilerService High CPU Use
2025-02-11 09:35:47 fileproviderd High CPU Use
2025-02-11 09:35:27 lsd Crash (6 times)

EtreCheck issues that report if it sees more than 5 instances of any crash, hang, or high CPU report.

I'm not sure what you mean by "unbecoming". Have I offended your sensibilities with the contents of my report, Mr. Darcy?

In the case of the report you posted I agree use of the adjective "numerous" is misleading. "A multitude" would be a more descriptive characterization. "A plethora" or "an overwhelming number" might require meeting a higher threshold.

macOS records crashing apps and processes with excessive CPU demands in its log files. EtreCheck reports what the Mac logs. If you would prefer that Apple not log such events, forward your comments to them.
