Getting an email about my Apple Account suspicious activity

Recieve a email from Apple stating my account has suspicious activity /fraud to contact. The email has my Apple ID email

That is a scam attempt. Do not interact with it. All you need to do is delete the message and block the sender, then move on.

Phishing scam.


The sender isn’t Apple, and the contact link or contact phone number provided will go somewhere other than Apple.


The most common version recently includes a reference to a $143.95 “fraud”, though the claimed amount can varies—common text of the phishing scam includes “we have noticed that your Apple id was used at “APPLE STORE” for $143.95, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization”, though that too can vary.


If you still have concerns about the message, look up the support contact info for the payment provider involved — don’t use the contact info in the message — and contact the provider directly.
