Iphone 16 bluetooth issue

I've recently upgraded my iphone from 13 to 16 pro max. The issue I'm having is bluetooth connection to my hearing aids and also earbuds. I walk everyday listening to either music or a podcast using a bluetooth connection. With the iphone 13 I would make the connection, go on my walks and never had a problem with disconnections or static. With the iphone 16, the connection is constantly dropping. I have to actually hold the iphone in my hand while walking to reduce the disconnections.

With the iphone 13 I would put it in my front pocket and had no issues. With the iphone 16, if I put the phone in my front pocket, it constantly disconnects. I thought maybe my hearing aids needed to be replaced, but the same thing happens with the earbuds. I have no problem when inside my house with connections dropping. Anybody have any suggestions, other than stop walking?
