Is there a way to reduce the size and resolution of memory for each photo? It uses up my iPhone memory very fast!!!!
There are only two formats available, High Efficiency is not compatible with other Apps, and it doesn't reduce memory much.
I really hate the "Live" Photo, which takes a lot of memory, too.
I don't understand why Apple can't make something smart?

Use iCloud Photos and choose "Optimize Storage." It does just what you are suggesting, and it keeps the full sized originals at iCloud.com where they can be retrieved for printing or editing. 5GB (nearly nothing) is free-- 200GB is $3/month. It's well worth it.

I need to upgrade to 200 Gb from my current subscription of 50 GB.
I feel 8MB or even 3MB per photo is a big waste of memory, it uses the same size of memories when I send them to others by text. I can reduce the size significantly when I email the photos.

It is a waste if you're only looking at pictures on your little phone, and if you are sure that you never want make changes and you never want to zoom in or crop or make prints of your pictures.
How can I reduce iPhone photo size and memory usage without compromising compatibility?
