What should I do if my iPad 2 screen goes blank?

I was in Costa on Tuesday with my iPad 2, the iPad is about 12 years old according to the warranty, the Apple homecare expired, I think one of the apps crashed. It is either:

 • one of the apps crashed

 • the iPad is too old

In Costa, I was facetiming my friend until I see the screen go blank. The iPad still works thankfully, but the screen or ipad itself crashed. Maybe it was the backlight.

Does anyone else have this problem at all?

Your iPad2 is long ago obsolete - and with obsolescence, all hardware support has ceased. Screen replacement, if available, will only be possible via a third-party repair store.

Be aware that screen replacement will almost certainly result in the iPad being fully reset - losing installed Apps. Given that all 32-bit Apps have been retired and removed from the Apple App Store, you'll not be able to restore/re-install any Apps to the iPad after a reset.

Given its age and lack of support, either for hardware or available Apps, you would be best advised to avoid spending any money on the obsolete iPad - and instead consider replacement with a much more recent or current model iPad.

Ok, thank you so much for the help.

I could install the apps with a newer device and go to purchased and install the oldest version of the app.

Thank you for the help, will do a repair when I get the chance.

Honestly, I think this iPad is not really worth saving, I got it in 2023 after my aunt gave it to me, honestly, it is old.

Also, I can only spend my money on my iPhone (which I posted about a month ago breaking)
