Lebara sim in mi fi device problem

I have a 100GB sim in a huwei Vodafone mi fi device. This connects ok to my iPad wi fi great but cannot get internet access. I have looked online and shows me to change APN settings on iPad. I tried to follow instructions as follows:

How To Configure Your APN Settings (Apple iOS)

  1. Select Settings > Cellular or Mobile Network.

  2. Select Cellular Data Network or Mobile Data then Mobile Data Options.

  3. Set your APN settings to: APN: truphone.com. Username & Password : *Leave Blank*

  4. You're done! Click the Home Button and all changes will be saved.

However I don’t get either the cellular or mobile network options in settings on my iPad. It is an older type iPad - could this be the problem and if so is there an alternative approach short of buying newer iPad?

iPad, iPadOS 16

Given that I don't know your Mi-Fi device (I use a old TP-Link M7350), I had to change the APN in the TP-Link advanced configuration, not on the iPad/iPhone.

I suggest that you read your Mi-Fi user manual or contact its manufacturer's support team and ask them.
