So when I change Region, will I lose my iCloud content or not?

It seems I need to go through an ordeal to change Region. So much for seamless user-oriented Apple design. So I would like to ask the community; will my iCloud get flushed or not by the time I change region and re-subscribe to iCloud at the new region? Do I need to cancel my iCloud in order to change region? In which case I will manually have to back up my photos, videos, notes and contacts I suppose? I guess they will still be on the phone, but still less than ideal.

Yes, you will have to cancel your iCloud subscription. The payment method used must also be updated to one based in that new region. After you have that payment method you can resubscribe to any subscriptions available in that region.

You don't need to change your region when you are simply passing through countries or staying for a short period of time, it is only ideal when your residency has actually changed and personally I do not see that done frequently. These are life changing decisions that involve a lot more than just changing your device region. Those would also need to consider such things as cancelling rent or sell home and make accommodations in new region along with other things such as drivers license, health insurance, Government ID's and all the other necessities of life.

Yeah I have seen and fully read that of course. Still not that clear or smooth at all, especially in terms of iCloud content migration. I am still under the impression that I will have to cancel my iCloud+ and re-subscribe on the other end. So I will basically have to back up all my photos, videos, contacts and notes just in case. Not ideal where people are changing country often these days.

I see. I just wish Apple had a smooth way for this. You would especially expect it from Apple. It also doesn't help you can't just reliably pull photos and videos from an iPhone by hooking it up with a cable. And iCloud has that 1000 photo / video limit at a time. I guess onto my desk for a full on backup. It was due for one anyway. I suppose it will still be on my phone anyway, but again, just in case.
