Automator issue on macOS Sequoia 15.2: “ScriptMonitor.app” keeps crashing with automator folder actions

Hi,

Since updating to macOS Sequoia 15.2, I’ve been experiencing issues with Automator folder actions on multiple MacBook Pro 2022 (Apple M1 Max).

I have a simple Automator folder action that moves files when their name contains a specific word. But only with Automator, Finder displays the following errors:

1. “The application “ScriptMonitor.app” can’t be opened. (-609)”

2. “The application “ScriptMonitor.app” is no longer open.”

These messages sometimes appear up to five times in a row.

What I’ve tried so far:

Rebuilt the Automator workflows

Disabled and re-enabled folder actions

Checked that Automator and ScriptMonitor.app have full disk access

Enabled FolderActionDispatcher and System Events under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Automation

Despite these steps, the issue persists.

Is this a known bug in Sequoia 15.2, or is there a fix?

Thanks for your help!

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.3

The current stable release of Sequoia including bug fixes, security updates is macOS 15.3.1 — I would start there
