Trade in my old iMac for a new one

They can assist on the moving your data over and you can drop off the computer for recycling, however to get a trade in value you need to use one of Apple's on-line trade-in programs. To move your data over, simply bring your Time Machine External Hard Disk into the store when you purchase the new machine and they will use the Time Machine External Hard Disk to migrate your data.

You can find the trade-in value by clicking Apple Trade In - Apple and following the simple process to see if your old iMac has any trade-in value. Prior to shipping it PLEASE take photos of the computer that proves it is working perfectly and that it has ZERO physical damage. Ensure the photos are time-stamped as the same day you ship it in!!!! This can be of assistance if there is a value dispute once the recycler receives the computer. Don't laugh, it happens!

Whether you can get anything in trade for it will depend on how old it is and whether it’s functional.

As for transferring the data, the staff should be able to help you do that in the store.
