I would go here
click on the icon that say "recycling"
and then click on the button that say [Get started]
and choose the "watches" from the dropdown and take it from there
Yes, Apple will take your old Apple Watch and recycle it. Take it to an Apple Store.

So since my Apple I watch is a very old series and is not eligible for a trade-in, the answer doesn’t tell me what I should do with it or how I should recycle it. Should I take it to the Apple store and give it to them? Would that be the answer?
