How do I resolve 'Server responded with an error' in Mac Calendar by re-adding email accounts?

ISSUE:

Mac Calendar "Server responded with an error" message

Revert to server, try again, cancel. Try again may close out the window and allow me to close iCal and shut down my computer. Or, it may cause me to click 'try again' 15 times before.

SPECIFIC TO MY CASE:

In the list of email accounts connected to the calendar on the left sidebar, 2 of my 3 email accounts had a little tiny gray exclamation point next to them. This meant that those 2 accounts needed to be removed and re-added to the accounts page in system preferences.

SIMPLE FIX:

Go to System Preferences>Internet Accounts>Click the problem mail account listed on the left sidebar>Click the remove " - " icon, follow any prompts> Click the "+" to add the mail account back in>Add the account address and password>Check the little time gray exclamation point. It should be gone.

Hope that helps. I think I got all the steps correctly from memory.

For problem accounts the go to way to sort things out is to delete the account(s) from the Mail.app, then add it back.

Remove email accounts in Mail on Mac

Add email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

Note—

IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync

POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them

“On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss

iCloud sync has had some recent server issue— may not be resolve for everyone in every location...

the resolve here would be to simple try at a later date/time.
