Photos missing from Photos App on MacBook Air

Iphone, Ipad, old MacBook Air, iCloud on Web and System iCloud all show 2661 items (photos and videos) However MacBook Air photos app shows 2482 items with a cutoff of July 29, 2024. I cannot find any filter that would restrict showing items after 7/28/2024, also created a Smart Folder for items captured after 7/28/2024 and did not show any items. Same Smart Folder on "old MacBook show 211 items captured after 7/28/2024. Seems to me it has to be something in the photos app but I can't find what it is.

Both matchbooks use the same library but the "troubled" one does not have the "use as systems library" selected. Filter is set to "all Items."

Need help please.
