How to update photo album in Messages after restoring a deleted conversation?

I delete a conversation & then restored it, which brought back all the texts & pictures but I am unable to actually see them in the “photos” section of our chat. It does not show past pictures or videos even though they are there in the chat if I were to scroll up. Anybody know how to update the album so all the picture & videos pop up?

Photos and videos not displaying in Messages app on iPhone I got a new iPhone 17 earlier this week and updated to the latest iOS (26.1). If I go into the Messages app, choose a conversation, and choose the Photos tab, I can see the pages of small versions of the images in rows of 3. However, if I select one past the first four screens or so, I only get the word "photo" with a harvey ball. Image is attached below. This is also the case for all of my conversations. I also can't see videos - I just get the word "video" with an icon of a video camera and "MOV" with a harvey ball. I turned off and restarted my phone - that got me access to a few photos but mostly did not help. How can I regain access to these photos and videos that were shared with me via Messages? Thank you.

How to attach photos in Messages after iPadOS 26.2 update? Since iPad OS 26.2 update, I cannot attach photos to messages by clicking on “+”, choosing “photos” and selecting a photo. A couple of my apps were acting wonky, but they were fixed quickly thereafter … this issue persists. Yes, I closed & restarted everything. Any tips? Option to view photos in messages disappeared from all updated devices? I just got an iPhone 17 pro max running on ios 26.2. When I go to my messages, I no longer have the option to view my photo gallery. The option has disappeared on my phone, ipad, and macbook. Is there a fix to this outside of syncing the message part in my iCloud settings? It’s such a pain to have to scroll and not be able to find photos easily.
