AirPod Pro 2 Electromagnetic Radiation exposure by modality

I would like to know the relative exposure to EMR (electromagnetic radiation) from AirPod Pro 2 in the following modalities.

  1. Telephone or Zoom call over Bluetooth
  2. Listening to music from iPhone (noise cancelled)
  3. Listening to music from iPhone (transparent)
  4. Hearing aid enabled and not connected to bluetooth.

I suspect number 1 is the most exposure because the AirPod is transmitting my voice via microwaves and numbers 2-4 are the least exposure because they are only receiving microwaves or acting as an amplifier only in hearing aid mode. There is likely a constant very small microwave Bluetooth signal in all cases for pairing control and data.

This would be helpful information for AirPods customers to minimized microwave exposure.

Apple's software does not currently hold any function to test EMR exposure, but I assure you that it is relatively low. If it was dangerously high I assume there would be some administration (maybe FDA), that would prevent Apple from selling AirPods.

Like Johnathan said, if you want to find out, purchase your own equipment and do your own testing.

I think the point is Apple should have this information available to its customers. We shouldn't all have to go out and purchase a $180 meter. 2.4 gigahertz UHF/microwave EMR exposure 2 centimeters from your cochlea may or may not be clinically significant (studies are inconclusive) but what is significant are the millions of people using these things making phone calls all day every day. I think Apple needs to be transparent about this.
