Why is my Apple TV suddenly not producing sound?

Apple TV had been working for months without issue. When I turned it on today, there was no sound.

Changing the audio source, unplugging cables and turning on/off did not work for me. I had to got into settings -> system -> restart to do a full restart.

That worked and thought to post here.

My appletv sometimes doesnt have sound This is a newer issue, and it’s increasing in frequency. I have an AppleTV (no 4K), latest update. It’s connected to a TCL Roku TV. sometimes I turn on my tv and my Appletv starts up, and has no sound. The original TV has sound. The only way to fix the sound issue is to unplug and replug the Apple TV (the restart function doesn’t fix it). anything I can do to fix this issue?
