How do I increase the lock period for the Passwords app on Mac?

I was wondering if it's possible to specify a time period before the included Passwords app that comes with the Mac locks and asks for the password. Mine seems to lock after around 5 or 10 minutes, which is too short for my liking.

Thanks in advance.

I sadly don't think there is. And I'm pretty sure it's intentional, but not in a good way. I use a 24 character, fully randomized password, I have memorized it so it's not a big deal to type in occasionally. But its a major pain when I have to type it in every single time my Mac it docked at my office. Now the "Apple" way would be to just buy a 150 dollar keyboard for my office and another for my home office for the privilege of touch-id.

But instead I pay 36 bucks a year for 1password.

It doesn't catch new passwords and sign-ins as effectively as the new native passwords app, the interface is much more dated and busy than id like but it does what I need it to do and it allows me to actually change settings that make a meaningful difference in my day.

Apple should take note and either give us better options for opening the Passwords app, allow us to change the time before it locks, or idk make a freaking keyboard that has touch-id that's reasonably priced since its just a basic membrane keyboard with a 5 dollar fingerprint reader in it.

After using the native Passwords app exclusively now for almost 1 month, I definitely do not see me renewing my yearly subscription with 1Password when it is due in July.

Like yourself, I too find with the native Passwords app that sign-ins are more seamless and sign in more reliably with it when compared to 1Password, and like yourself I too find it catches new passwords better/more reliably.
