It keeps popping up when I’m on Words With Friends, even though I never gave permission for banner ads. That’s the only app where it keeps popping up frequently—multiple times an play—and seemingly randomly. Is the only solution to quit playing WWF?

What Is traffic shield.XYZ security threat center it keeps popping up on my iPhone and tells me that I have 28 threats. It offers to fix now I immediately sweep up to delete it or to close it. What is it and do it I need it or is this a scam? Sometimes it says threat sweeper.

I blocked the site on my iPad by doing the following:

Settings

Screen Time

Content & Privacy Restrictions (turn it on, if it isn't On already)

App store, Media, Web & Games

Web Content

Limit Adult Websites

Add Website

Now type the following: trafficshield.xyz (then tap Done)

It doesn't stop the game from trying to access the website, but instead of opening the suspicious website you will get a message saying that the site is restricted.

Unlike typical ads, this ad is opening in Safari on its own, without me clicking on the ad or anything, for that matter, and not always at a time when an ad is expected. Then, when hitting to return to the game, it leaves that window open. Essentially, I’ve been playing for about ten minutes and had to go shut down five windows due to this out-of-the-ordinary behavior. Yes, I will lodge a complaint.

The ad comes from the Zynga Ad network. They will have to resolve it themselves. Zynga is already aware of the ad causing the problem, they just have not fixed it yet. Continue to complain to the app developer that is using the Zynga Ad network where you are seeing it or quit playing the game. Your phone does not have any Malware, and the ad is the same as any other ad that attempts to scare you into believing there is a problem, so you download their software. Many well known companies use these same scare tactics such as Total AV, Nord VPN, Bit Defender, and Avast. Zynga is paid for that ad and the only thing that is more important than the money they get for it, is the users that would leave because they find it annoying.

This keeps happening to me, too, but only when I'm in the Cryptogram app. I've had this app on my iPad Air for a few months now and it just started happening. It doesn't happen in any other app (so far). I like this app and don't want to have to permanently delete it. Is there a way to stop it?

I’ve had this problem recently too. I found that blocking the website was one option. It still tries to go to the website but at least won’t open. Words with Friends is essentially allowing malware to pop up from its app.

The problem with this popup is that you don’t have to touch anything. I’ve had the app open with my phone not even in my hand and the browser will try to open to that website. The App Store has a lot of recent reviews that mention this problem. Zynga’s is supposedly working on the problem.
