It is not just Zynga, it is any app that uses the Ad Network where the ad is run. There are only about 7 or 8 ad companies that are commonly used by developers to provide ads and the same ads will often be purchased from multiple ad companies. Zynga has been the common one seen here because of how many people play Words with Friends. They are also the one that has made a statement that it is related to the ad that is displayed and working to get that ad removed by their provider. The same ad is seen on the Paint by Numbers app. Contacting the game developer is the best course of action.

Make sure you have entered trafficshield.xyz into the Never Allow section.

it sounds like you may have entered the website into the Always Allow section. (Unfortunately, my instructions did not explicitly indicate which section, and I am unable to edit them now.)

if you do see the website in the Always Allow section, swipe left, and tap Delete.

I’ve had this problem recently too. I found that blocking the website was one option. It still tries to go to the website but at least won’t open. Words with Friends is essentially allowing malware to pop up from its app.

I’m having the same issue with Words With Friends. It jumps to safari and loads that URL without even touching on any ad. It’s not malware. It’s a phishing scam making you think your device is infected, but it’s not.

Multiple apps use the same ad provider. The name of the ad provider is usually in one of the corners of the ad. The solutions are:

• Complain to the developer
• Write a review for the app in the App Store. In many cases this will get the attention of the Developer and also alert other potential users looking to download the app.
• Pay for ad-free use with an in-app purchase
• Quit using the apps that use that ad provider.

Me too but mine started when I allowed Words with Friends to run banner ads on my game for 500 coins. I’ve spoken with Apple support and it’s possible we that’s where it began. I’ve deleted the game and will see if I still get the pop up

Unlike typical ads, this ad is opening in Safari on its own, without me clicking on the ad or anything, for that matter, and not always at a time when an ad is expected. Then, when hitting to return to the game, it leaves that window open. Essentially, I’ve been playing for about ten minutes and had to go shut down five windows due to this out-of-the-ordinary behavior. Yes, I will lodge a complaint.

Is the actual website displaying on the screen, or do you get a message that it's a "restricted site"? It should be the latter. The "fix" that I posted will not prevent the attempt to display the website. That is a problem that Zynga (or whatever app developer) needs to address.

If your browser is actually opening the restricted site, that is a problem that needs to be addressed by Apple Support.

It’s some kind of scam. Everyone has 28 threats. Don’t click on anything on the page.

I tried this over and over and I even did a copy paste of the website and it didnt work. Looks like deleting the app is the only answer :(

This keeps happening to me, too, but only when I'm in the Cryptogram app. I've had this app on my iPad Air for a few months now and it just started happening. It doesn't happen in any other app (so far). I like this app and don't want to have to permanently delete it. Is there a way to stop it?

It keeps popping up when I’m on Words With Friends, even though I never gave permission for banner ads. That’s the only app where it keeps popping up frequently—multiple times an play—and seemingly randomly. Is the only solution to quit playing WWF?
