Iphone 16 pro max - screen going dark

Hi, I have iphone 16 pro max, there is an issue with the screen, after talking mobile and ending the call, the screen goes black, but the phone and face id is working in the background ? I updated the phone on ios 18.3.1, and the problem is still here.

Anyone familiar with this problem, any fix or something ?

So, it is most likely the always on display feature which also drains a lot of battery. The iPhone 16 can go from 1 nits to 2000 nits.

To turn it off, go to Settings > Display & Brightness, then turn off Always On Display

or just turn up the light via control center at the top right of the screen
