Corrupted RAW Files After Importing from Nikon Z6 III to Mac

Hey everyone, I recently transferred RAW photos from my Nikon Z6 III to my Mac, but after importing them, the files seem to be corrupted. They show up as unopenable JPEG files, and when I try to export the original file from the Photos app and view it with Preview or another viewer, I get an unusual color spectrum instead of the image (like the one below).

I’ve never had this issue with JPEGs, and unfortunately, I deleted the files from my SD card after import. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Is there any way to recover the photos or fix the corrupted files? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The Raw format of Nikon Z6 III does not yet seem to be supported by macOS Sequoia, see this list: Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia and visionOS 2 - Apple Support (IN)

Have you tried to open the original RAW files with a third-party program like the free Adobe DNG Converter? Try to convert the RAW files to DNG.

You may want to export the files with File > Export > Export unmodified original.

If you have taken RAW &JPEG pairs this will export two files, a JPEG and a NEF.
