Default browser error after iOS 18.3.1

Hi. Since installing update 18.3.1, I keep getting an error every time I go to safari, about my web browser.


a pop up appears on top of the error page, and this pop up says it can’t connect to Apple Store. I need to click ok and then 2 seconds later the error page disappears and it goes to the internet.


It is annoying having to click on this pop up window, every time I want to go to safari.


the phone was working fine before the update, I can only assume it has to do with it.

i only have one browser, can’t understand why it’s telling me I can choose my browser later (to then disappear before I can click “continue”), and I can go to my Apple Store immediately after that, so the connection is working.


any help would be appreciated.

I'd try clearing your Safari history, cache & cookies using these instructions:--> Clear the history, cache, and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support


When done, restart your iPhone, then go to Settings>App>Safari and make sure that Safari is your default browser.

Test


If the issue still persists, contact Apple Support directly, using this link:--> Contact Apple for support and service
