Apps on Apple app store scamming people

I downloaded an app that was used to scam people using a fake cryptocurrency investment scheme and lost some money. It is clear that apple is not doing any due diligence to ensure they do not allow such apps to operate on it's store. Where is the accountability Apple? The apps appeared, ran the scams and disappeared.

You are accountable for who you give your personal/financial information to. To get an app submitted to the store, they just need to meet the minimum Submission Guidelines and apps will be removed if they are reported as scams or inappropriate. Just because it is in the App Store, does not mean that Apple is recommending the app.

Some will claim that Facebook is a scam because it collects the personal information you give them and sells it to advertisers for a profit. Many people have been scammed on EBay by purchasing products from users on that platform that do not work. Those apps still meet the Submission Guidelines and you are responsible for how you use them.
