Unable to stream videos on Netflix or Amazon using my iPhone 16 Pro Max

I haven't been able to stream videos on Netflix or amazon.


Selecting a video gets loading spinner on the screen and after some time Error is displayed

Cannot play title. Please try again later (CM: 42709)


On amazon prime, it throws error code 5001


Have tried deleting the app and reinstalling, restarting the phone. I don't want to perform hard reset.

I ported my data over from my old iphone to this and its so annoying that after spending so much money, these pity issues are present in iOS.

I have this same issue, ALL streaming apps are not working on my new IPhone16 pro Max. This includes Apple TV, Netflix, paramount, Disney, Amazon. I get error messages on each one including I am

not allowed to watch this due to my location, and I have tried this on 3 separate WIFI networks. I have done a locations Reset, and an all settings Reset. I have restarted the phone, I have deleted the apps and reinstalled them. I am in the same boat as I do not want to hard reset the phone because this was transferred from my old phone. What is the solution?

Same problem with Netflix. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting phone and wifi, shifted to mobile data, but nothing worked!


I recently updated iOS, now at 18.3.1, so I thought it might be the problem. However, my sister has the same iOS on her iphone 11 with no problems with Netflix. Mine’s iphone 14.


Try streaming on your macbook tho. It worked fine for me. Reported this issue with Netflix. Hoping anyone could share a solution.
