You cannot bypass activation lock. Your cousin can however and she should have done the following on the phone before giving it to you --> What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Hand the phone back to your cousin to do this. If she can't or won't, recycle the phone responsibly as it will remain locked forever, unless your cousin still has the original purchase receipt, which shows the phone's serial number on it. That for an iPhone released over 12 years ago, is highly unlikely.

While were on this topic, you will likely be very disappointed with an iPhone 5. It can't run many many modern apps at this point. The phone is obsolete and apple won't touch it for service of any kind at this point. The time and effort you or your cousin will have to go through to even get back in the phone isn't honestly worth it.

If the iPhone is Activation Locked with her Apple ID and Apple ID password, those must be used to unlock the phone.

if she is the original purchaser of the phone and has a receipt from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller clearly showing her name and the phone’s serial number, she could submit an Activation Lock support request.

Absent such credentials or such proof, the phone will remain locked.
