Why is the camera option missing in my Notes app?

I used to have the camera function in the Notes app but I noticed that it is no longer there, even when I have written a new note, it doesn’t show.

I don't see the camera icon on the notes app I have used Notes in the past to scan photos and it worked perfectly but now I don't see the camera button on the notes app any more. Am I missing something?

How can I access the Camera in Notes on iOS 18? Before I updated recently to iOS 18 on my iPhone 12 Pro, the camera icon would appear in the line above the keyboard when composing a note in the Notes app. After the update, the camera icon no longer appears. An Apple support agent was finally able to help. Now you have to click on the paper clip (attachment) icon above the keyboard. That opens a submenu on which the camera and scanning options appear. No camera on toolbar in Notes app I have an iphone 15 pro...version iOS 18.0.1 I often use the camera on the toolbar of noted to scan documents for my accountant. I tried to scan today but the camera has disappeared and now I can't use the notes app to scan. Is there something I'm missing? I've scanned documents a week ago without any problem. Any help would be appreciated.
