Need Help Finding a Way to Download Final Cut Pro 10.6.10

There is no official way to download a specific previous version that I'm aware of. You might ask on the fcp dot cafe discussions to see if anyone there has suggestions.

I'm pretty sure the answer is no otherwise you wouldn't be posting for help, but you don't have a TimeMachine backup or any other form of backups? It doesn't help now, but best practice is to always zip up the current version of FCP before updating just in case something goes wrong.

As an addition to terryb's excellent reply: one can only dowload the last version for the OS the is being run.

I can't find any definite list matching each OS version to the last FCP version that runs on it.

Now if, for example, 10.6.10 were the last version for Monterey, for example, then you could install this OS on an external drive, login to the App Store in this OS and retriece 10.6.10. But I can't say if 10.6.10 was the cut point for some particular OS. I know that 10.6.5 was the cut point for Big Sur, and I am pretty sure that Monterey can run 10.6.10, but probably also 10.7.

No, because I have an iMac Pro 2017, and Ventura OS is the last version that runs smoothly and is best optimized for Intel-based machines. The latest Final Cut Pro versions are oriented towards Apple Silicon (M-series) chips.

Which version of FCP are you currently using? What problems are you experiencing with it?

FWIW, I used all the versions up to and including FCP 11, on an Intel Mac, and even though there were features that were not supported, I never had any major issues.

Maybe the issues you are experiencing with 10.7 or other version can be resolved.

Often problems result from other software causing trouble.

so for pro users needing absolute reliability, Ventura (latest 13.x) remains the safest option.

I wonder why you updated if you were so sure of compatibility. Updates are done at your own risk. If you don't have a backup, you have no choice but to give up.

I assume you're looking for 10.6.10 as it's the last version to support mO2?

I have an iMac Pro, running the latest just fine.
