The subscription only covers Apple-original content; click here for the list of it. Items which show an individual price aren't part of either paid or trial memberships and cost the same regardless of status.

The Apple TV+ subscription is for streaming Apple content. What movie is asking you to purchase?

To view the content you can watch for free with the Apple TV subscription, make sure you are using the "Apple TV+" tab in the sidebar to restrict to only your Apple TV+ content. The Home tab is used if you have subscriptions to other services and want to watch their content without having to switch apps or want to purchase on-demand movies that is not provided by Apple, like you would find on other streaming services.

If you’re not familiar with the app it might seem this way. The shows will have the tv+ logo on them to indicate what’s included in the subscription. The other content is from the iTunes Store, if it says rent or but it’s not included in the subscription. Try Tubi if you want free content. It’s not bad once you figure out how to find the categories.

I hear what is being said about the content? And paying for movies? This is not my issue?! My issue is that Apple is very vague about what can & cannot be achieved on tv+.

It is actually pretty simple. When using the Apple TV+ tab, all the content you see is free and everything included in your subscription. Just stay there if you only want to see your free content from the Apple TV+ subscription, it will remember your location and you won't have to choose it again.

Just like the other streamers, you can use the Home tab to view content from other subscriptions or on-demand movies that you have to pay for. That way if you have a Paramount+ subscription, you don't have to change apps just to watch the content, or if their is a movie in the theater you want to watch, you can search for it there and tent/buy it.

Try out all the streamers, they usually come with a free trial period, then choose the one you like the most.
