See the section What should I do if my iPhone gets wet? in: About splash, water, and dust resistance of iPhone 7 and later - Apple Support

(No rice, either. That just risks getting rice dust where it should never be.)

Hello!

The best thing you can do is place it in an upright position, charging port down, and lean it against the wall. If possible, place it on a floor vent. If not, try to have some air blowing at it. Then leave it to dry. DO NOT put the iPhone in rice. If you experience difficulties with the device afterwards, have it checked out at a Genius Bar.

Have a great day!
