New update prevents resize when exported in PHOTOS

Until today, I've been able to choose a custom size to export images from PHOTOS desktop. I'm on Mac mini M4 Pro. My support call rep said it happened in a recent update with no explanation as to why or a work around. I use this feature constantly. Does anyone know the best work around? I need to export to save to my desktop folder as 1200 wide pixels. Thank you!

It is still possible for me to choose a custom size on export.

When you trait, where exactly does it go wrong? Is the custom size no longer available in the Export menu?

When I use "File > Export > Export ... image" and select Photo Kind > JPEG and click the "v" to open the advanced options, I can set the size to "Custom", like this:

Where is it different for you?

So we're all on the same page you're not getting this option when exporting a photo?

Is that correct? I'm on a Mac Mini M4.

Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

Where is your library located? If on an external drive how is that drive formatted and connected to your Mac Mini?

It's extremely rare for that to happen-- I don't ever remember my Export dialog starting out hiding like that for any upgrade, and we've seen it only a time or two here. I can't even imagine why anyone would close that section, really-- what would be the big advantage? In any case, you now know that this section opens and closes, so it'll never cause you a problem, again.

And since I've hijacked this post to rant, here's another hidden arrow

to watch out for-- the little ⌄ arrow with "Photos" doesn't show until you hover over it with the cursor. It can close that section so you can't even find Library or Favorites. There's one at Collections, too, as well as the other sections, but I wasn't hovering there, so the arrows are invisible. Now THAT's hidden!

Oh my goodness! That was so helpful! I had clicked the v by jpeg many times before but the advanced options never came up. THIS TIME IT DID! Thank you! I can't believe the support guy told me it was gone for good bc of an update. I am grateful to you all that replied!

Thank you for this tip. I updated to Sequoia 15.3.2 earlier today. Just now, I went to export from Photos, and I didn't have the screen I always had before that allows me to select Maximum Full Size, Maximum Large Size, etc. My husband had held up on the update when he saw what happened to me. We are relieved that the options are still there. But why did the update HIDE this when you go to Export the first time in Photos after this upgrade? It's .. and time consuming since so many of us think it was broken and that the options had been removed. Is there a way to guarantee this screen will always be available as my default when I go to Export? I did quit Photos and go back in and went to export 1 photo as a test, and it appears the Advanced Options screen with the options we know and love were there -- I didn't have to overtly use the pull-down as shown in the screen capture. So maybe once you open it in Photos for Export, it stays that way (until another upgrade decides to hide it again??!!!)? AARRGGHH!!!!!
