iPhone_iXpand photo drive: iPhone batteries dying_hope this'd help :)

I initially went on here to see what people'd do because my iphone battery was on 17% and the transfer (still) is nowhere near finishing ... then I realised I have a portable magnet charger so I guess problem solved for now, .. until that runs out (hopefully won't)! But yeh, the iXpand Photo Drive DEFINITELY eats up loads of battery! and fast! Handy though when a laptop isn't nearby ... I tried buying more storage on iCloud initially too and in fact I did, but had problems transferring videos - super sloooooooooow!

iCloud Photos works as a syncing service, not just a backup. That’s an important distinction! when compared with iXPand, Google Drive, OneDrive, DropBox, Flickr, box, AmazonDrive, Adobe Creative Cloud

With iCloud Photos:

  • Syncing means any change you make on one device reflects on all devices signed into the same iCloud account. If you delete a photo on your iPhone, it also gets deleted from iCloud and any other connected device.
  • If you want to free up space on your iPhone without deleting photos from iCloud, you can turn on Optimize iPhone Storage under Settings > Photos. This keeps lower-resolution versions on your phone and full-resolution ones in iCloud.
  • iCloud Drive, on the other hand, is more like traditional cloud storage — you can upload files and access them separately without syncing everything. But iCloud Photos and iCloud Drive are separate services, so you can’t move photos directly from iCloud Photos to iCloud Drive without downloading and re-uploading them.

I know it does lol - thank you though but it was just wayyyyy too sloooooow! I have a decent laptop and I do back up onto iCloud ie; Contacts, etc but for videos ... I just don't find it fast enough :) .. Maybe it IS my laptop?? Having said that, the iXpand isn't any faster however, I CAN access most of what I need from my laptop ie; WhatApp, when my phone is held up but when my laptop is held up for an extended period/sloooooows down... hrmmm, a nay :) And Yes - I do understand the diff, that's probably why it takes way longer with syncing ALL pix/videos :)
