How can I fix Outlook and Hotmail sync problems on iPhone 14?

Since yesterday, emails within the iPhone app have stopped syncing. I have an outlook, Hotmail and iCloud accounts. It started with the outlook and Hotmail continually asking for the password. I ended up

removing and re-adding the accounts several times, nothing helped. After some googling, I removed accounts, shut down and restarted phone, deleted mail app, redownloaded from App Store, added accounts again and today they seemed to sync for a bit but again they seem to have stopped . At my wits end with it now! I have a

workaround by adding my accounts to my outlook app which I normally just use for work. It seeems to sync and update ok as it’s receiving my “test” emails, whereas the iPhone mail app isn’t. My husband’s is also doing the same and he just updated to the latest iOS yesterday. I updated a couple of weeks ago

and email been ok (albeit very slow to load since update and limiting email search results - why?) until now. What’s going on? Anyone else with similar and how can I fix it as much prefer using original mail app?!

I'm able to do it without the outlook app. Follow instructions in the link. Basically, delete your accounts within Apple Mail on your phone. Go into Settings>Safari and click to clear history and website data. Then reboot your phone and reinstall your hotmail accounts on your phone with Apple Mail by selecting the "Outlook" option for the type of mail server. The problem is that safari has cached old/nonsecure login data which once deleted, allows you to reinstall. Hope that helps.

Me too. I tried to delete and reinstall on both the "Microsoft Exchange" and the "Outlook" options within Apple Mail on my iPhone and the accounts were reinstalled but now ALL of the information has been deleted, including all saved folders and mail, AND no new mail is being fetched or pushed to my phone. I do notice that "Outlook" is not available as an option for a new Mail account anymore on my desktop version of Mail. It IS still an option for accounts on iPhone. Also, there was a recent iPhone OS update to 18.3.1 which my iPhone 12 has and is running. AND there's a recent update to macOS which I have NOT installed. I am running Sonoma 14.7 and Seqoia 15.3 is available. So my plan is to install that and see if it "Outlook" reappears as an option for Mail accounts on my Mac. If still no, but email starts working again, that will be the reason the for desktop issue. And for the phone, I THINK i reinstalled the accounts using "Outlook" so if they are still not working after a hard reset of the phone, will try to reinstall using "Microsoft Exchange" and report back on all of this.
