How can I delete a page in the Pages document?

I have a page layout document with two pages. Somehow I added a third page which doesn't have anything on it. I want to delete that page. However, when I follow the instructions for deleting a single page in a page layout document (making sure to select that one page) I encounter a question box that asks: Are you sure you want to delete all the content in your document? No, I certainly don't. So I have experimented with a test document and said yes to deleting my content thinking that it will delete just the third blank page. lt doesn't. All three pages (with the first two with content) are deleted.

Can someone tell me how I can delete just my third page?

Thanks...cworcester26

In a Pages page layout document, every page is also a section and you can simply right-click on any thumbnail to remove that page. However, this will not work if the document is a default word-processing layout document.

Thank you for your response and recommendation to solve my Pages question. I am attaching some screengrabs for my new question. Picture 1 - Worcester shows the three pages I have. Page 1 and Page 2 constitute my project. Page 3 is a blank one. It's the one I want to delete. Picture 2 - Worcester As you suggest, I right-clicked on the thumbnail of the white blank page, a small window opened with four options: Cut, Copy, Delete and Duplicate. I selected Delete and ended up with this message: Are you sure you want to delete all content from your document? I thought that if I select "Delete" the blank page would be deleted. To make sure I was right, I created another test document in Pages with 2 pages. When I right-clicked in the second page and then selected the 2nd page both pages were deleted. As the small window warned: An empty page will replace your content. All that remained was that empty page. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Many thanks...Chad Worcester [cworcester26]

You do not have a page layout format document. It is a word-processing layout document and that negates my original interpretation that you had a page layout format document. Thus, you cannot remove a page thumbnail in a word processing layout document or risk wiping your document.

Instead, you click on that third blank page thumbnail, and on that page, you press shift+cmd+i to Show invisibles. If what you see are one or more paragraph marks, just backspace until the blank page thumbnail disappears. If it is a blue line across the page, double-click on it to select, and then backspace to delete that artifact and hopefully the page itself.
