Bimodal streaming with hearing aid devices
Hi, I have a MedEl cochlear implant (Rondo 3) and a GN Resound hearing aid. Wondering how I can solve the issue of bimodal streaming from my iphone 16.
Many thanks

I also have a Med-El implant and a Danalogic (NHS version of Resound) hearing aid. I have also asked a separate question about this. It is very poor that Apple don’t seem willing to reply. I tried a Samsung Galaxy S25 in a shop on Saturday and the streaming to both ears worked brilliantly. May ditch Apple if they don’t get their finger out and sort it!
Hi @StantonSkier
I learned something since my post. Apple has a commercial agreement with Cochlear and Resound, so if you don't have these brands, you cannot get bimodal bluetooth streaming. I strongly believe that we are being prevented by these commercial agreements from getting the full benefits of our medical devices compared to those lucky enough to have "Cochlear" CIs, Resound HAs, and apple iphones . I am researching the UN Convention for the Rights of People with Disabilities at the moment and will share with you my musings. Will take a couple of weeks though. I have been an Apple iphone user for many years as it is the device that best serves visually impaired and blind users. I am losing my vision and my hearing, and I need to be able to use the best technology available to me, through my own choice of brands that meet my needs, and not controlled by commercial agreements. If apple can align with different brands, as it already does with both my Medel and my Resound HA, it should be able to allow me to benefit from bimodal streaming like Android does. Perhaps profitability is more important than bimodal streaming.

StantonSkier ~ That's because these are user-to-user communities. For a reply from Apple, go here:

Hi - that’s really shocking to hear about the ‘commercial agreements’. Hope you get somewhere with the UN Convention to Rights to people with Disabilities. I will happily add my name to it if you need it.
You usually have to ask fellow users how to dual Bluetooth with cochlear implants. I doubt Apple support will have much knowledge about bimodal systems but thanks anyway.
