Digital camera for brightfield light microscopy with MacOS compatibility

I'm a pathologist looking to replace an aged Nikon digital camera on my microscope. Nikon stopped supporting the MacOS version of the operating software some years ago and I've had to run the software in a Windows 10 virtual machine to use the camera. What a pain! I just need to capture high quality, bright field, still images with excellent color rendition. The Mac compatible camera alternatives that I'm finding on line aren't promising: lesser image quality than what I have now, or very expensive hardware, or clunky software that lacks essential features found in the Windows versions for the same camera. I will also be replacing my beloved 2017 iMac Pro which still works beautifully but is finally having slow downs with what I need it to do. M4 mini and Studio Display here I come! Any recommendations from folks capturing bright field microscopic images would be welcome.

iMac Pro, macOS 15.3
