I plugged in my cd player directly to my new iMac 24 and it will not recognize it. Trying to download photos on cd. Please help.

No, I’m plugging in directly to the port on the back of the monitor/computer. My new cd player has a c plug
What CD drive are you using? Some require more power than others but most should work.

A usb-c drive should work. I just used a generic one the other day.
So, what format are these CD's in?
You have to insert a CD before it shows up in the finder.
