GarageBand VST pedals not working with Spitfire LABS piano on MacBook Air

I am using a Spitfire LABS piano VST on Garage Band connected to my MacBook Air through a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Audio Interface. The keyboard notes of the VST come through fine; however, the pedals (Sustain, Sostenuto, Low) do not work, i.e. they do not sustain the notes played or make it quieter. Any assistance on how to trouble shoot this issue is appreciated.
