NFC not working for Apple Pay on iPhone XS with iOS 18.3.1

Hello, I’m having an issue using Apple Pay for payments. When I try to make a payment, the payment terminal doesn’t respond, and I believe the problem might be related to the NFC functionality on my device. I’ve already tried the following steps to resolve the issue:

1. I made sure Apple Pay is enabled and my card is supported.

2. I restarted my device.

3. I checked that my device is running the latest version of iOS.

4. I removed the card and re-added it to Apple Pay.

5. I tried paying at different terminals, but the issue persists.

When I bring my phone close to the payment terminal, there’s no interaction, and I don’t see any messages on the screen indicating that the payment is being processed.

I’m using an iPhone X with iOS 18.3.1 . I’ve also tried removing my phone case, but that didn’t solve the problem. Could you help me figure out what’s causing this issue? Is it related to the NFC settings on my device, or could it be a hardware problem that requires repair?

OK, time to get hardware checked. You need to have Apple perform diagnostics on your iPhone. It can be done in person at an Apple Retail Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support and request remote diagnostics.
