Why aren't my custom Reminders repeating on iPad?

I use one reminder that is set for a once-every-3-days custom repeat cycle, but it never repeats. All others that have default repeats, such as monthly, are very dependable. I use the reminders on 2 platforms, an iPhone 12 and a new 9th-generation iPad. Neither one repeats the custom reminders. Is there a fix for this issue? (And, yes, I have confirmed updates and have rebooted both to no avail).

Hello BillTxn,

I just did a test on an iPhone using iOS 18.3.1. The 3-day reminder was repeated 3 days hence after I marked it as completed. (I didn't wait 3 days to see if the notification would pop up; I just check that the reminder was in in the Scheduled list 3 days hence.)

I would suggest deleting the reminder, turning off Reminders in Settings > [your name] > iCloud on both devices, rebooting both devices and turning Reminders back on.

As your suggestion indicates, this action DLETES all reminders. I have too many scheduled to replicate them. Thanks for your help. I'll just have to live with the frustration of the custom repeat not working correctly.

The reminders are only removed from the device, not from iCloud. As soon as you turn back on Reminders in Settings > [your name] > iCloud, they will be downloaded anew to your device (from iCloud).

Turning off and on Reminders in iCloud is a way to reset the synchronization between the device and iCloud. It also helps with odd situations like the one you are observing.
