Podcasts app not connecting

That sounds super frustrating! I personally don’t use apple podcasts but I will try and help you! If everything else on your phone is working fine but Apple Podcasts won’t connect, here are a few things you can try

1. Check if Apple’s servers are having issues

Before going too deep, check Apple’s System Status page. If their servers are down, there’s nothing you can do except wait.

2. Close the app & restart your phone

Sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how often this works. hit the home button twice to close the app, then reopen it. If that doesn’t work, restart your phone and try again.

3. Make sure your internet isn’t the problem

Even if other apps work, try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see if that helps. You can also flip Airplane Mode on and off real quick.

4. Check for updates

Software Update: Go to Settings > General > Software Update and see if your iPhone needs an update.

App Update: Open the App Store, search for Apple Podcasts, and see if there’s an update waiting. (There most likely won’t be an update because the last Apple Podcasts update released on September 18th of 2024)

5. Reset network settings (if all else fails)

This one’s a bit more extreme since it wipes your saved Wi-Fi passwords, but it can fix weird connection issues. If you’re up for it: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

6. Sign out and back into your Apple ID

This can sometimes help the app. Just go to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign Out, then sign back in and try the app again. (Just know it may ask for your google account password and other stuff)

7. Delete and reinstall the Podcasts app

If nothing else works, I would just delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store. Sometimes a fresh start is all it needs.
