Apple TV remote won't control Denon power?

Hi! Replacing a Verizon set top box with an Apple TV 4k. With the Verizon, the remote would turn on/off the Verizon box, LG TV, and Denon home theater receiver. Dropped the Apple TV onto the same HDMI cable and same connections, the Apple remote turns on the TV and Apple TV, but won't control the power for the Denon (it does control volume at the receiver). I checked all the Apple docs about controlling outboard devices, but no helpful info there. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. I was pretty sure I had all that covered, as the Verizon remote turned everything on and off. But I found a setting on the Denon under Video settings that referenced HDMI control, turned that on and all is well now…
