Connect your iPhone connected to your MacBook with a USB cable and launch Image Capture. With Image Capture you can select and download all photos and videos from your iPhone to a folder on the Desktop. From there you can import into your Photos library.

Really, the best way is to use iCloud to sync your devices. You can get enough storage, maybe $3, to do the transfer, and then cancel, if you like. It may take a few days, and it works best if the Mac and phone are left turned on, plugged in and untouched during a few nights. But you don't have to sit and watch!
