Reducing Size of Backups in iCloud

I have run out of iCloud space for my iPad. Backups takes up half ~25 GB of that space on iCloud. If I delete Backups from iCloud then back up my iPad, will Backups in my iCloud be a smaller size? This is my third iPad over the years, and I’ve installed my data using the cloud. I wonder if my Backups contains data from past devices.

iCloud backup size confusion on iPhone I’m currently unable to backup my phone to iCloud. It currently shows 4.8gb used out of the available 5gb. The existing backup is showing as 3.8gb. If I select “delete and turn off backup “ option, can I create a new backup straight away? I have all the photos and data on my phone that I need to backup. I have also turned off the apps that were using iCloud that I do not want to backup in the next backup. The thing that is confusing me is that it says next backup size +13.84gb. How to delete backups from iCloud and have more storage on my iPhone How do I delete previous backups from iCloud to have more room and storage on my iPhone 11, especially for photos, videos, and apps? Also, I am planning to get a new iPhone in the next few months when I am able to do so.

You can see what backups exist at Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup > All Device Backups

If you touch on any of the devices in the list you can then see the option 'Turn off and delete from iCloud'.
