My iPad Pro 17 is ghost touching and based on the damages there is no reason why it is doing this

had my iPad Pro 17 for about three years now and it has lots of ghost touches randomly and I don’t think it is a dirty screen or a loose screen protector that causes it or even the case so one year after I got it which was two years ago I dropped it Case less on a wooden plank floor and that’s when it got its first crack after that happened there were no ghost ghost touches and it was just a normal crack like all the other devices and I also keep my iPad in my backpack sometimes and when I do that there are no bends on the iPad in the shape is perfectly fine so I can’t find the explanation of why it is ghost touching based on my iPad damages I also noticed that my iPad screen is lifting up a little bit but that has nothing to do why it is ghost touching and I usually draw on my iPad and take notes using Notes app and when I usually draw with my Apple Pencil there will usually be tiny dots on my canvas and it will really affect my drawing experience but all of the damages on the iPad I don’t think they would affect the ghost touching and display experience the cracks on my iPad aren’t bending and affecting the display and there is no dust or anything on the screen nearby so I don’t know why this is

iPad Pro, iPadOS 17

A cracked pr damaged screen is very unlikely to function properly - as the digitiser layer that responds to touch has been broken. Your iPad requires repair.

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair. Unless you have benefit of an active AppleCare plan, an out-of-warranty repair while expensive will be somewhat less than the cost of a replacement iPad.

As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here:

iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of repair is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee.
